Green Wave News · Gallatin Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019


At this time, we are proud to announce the member of the Class of 2019 for the Gallatin Athletics Hall of Fame, which was established to recognize outstanding individuals who represented Gallatin and Union High Schools with great pride.

The class of 2019:

  • Matt Harber – three-time state champion in distance running events for the Green Wave, with one in 1992, and two in 1993
  • Rob Hosier – long time public address announcer for football and basketball for the Green Wave, and long time bookkeeper for basketball
  • Denver Howell – multi sport star athlete for the Green Wave, playing quarterback for the 1978 State Championship team
  • Mary Huddleston Malone – star basketball player for the Red Devilettes of Union High School, and a key member of their alumni group
  • Amy Lannom Wilhite – multi sport star athlete for the Lady Wave, playing point guard on the 1987 State Championship team
  • Byron McCollum – multi sport star athlete for the Green Wave, including a state championship in the high jump in 1987

The inductees will be recognized during a series of events on Friday, January 11, 2019. The events include a BBQ dinner being hosted by the Green Wave Baseball team from 5:00-6:30, a reception that begins at 6:30, and the induction ceremony will be at approximately 8:00 in Jerry Vradenburg Gymnasium at Gallatin High School.

The public is invited to attend all events to recognize this exceptional group of individuals who represented Gallatin and Union with great pride.
